Research Progress in MicroRNA and Osteosarcoma

2013
MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are a class of regulatory small RNA moleculars of about 21-23 nucleotide in length, which negatively regulate target gene by mRNA splicing and inhibition of protein translation.miRNAs can regulate about 50% of the protein-coding genes, and participate in a variety of physiological processes including cell differentiation and apoptosis.Recent studies have shown that miRNAs are involved in tumor development and are closely associated with the initiation, progression, invasion and metastasis of human osteosarcoma as oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes. Here is to make a review of the recent progress, both domestic and overseas,in research on miRNAs in human osteosarcoma.
