This article initially makes a documentary inquiry about the situation of the academy in some countries of different continents, in Ecuador and at the University of Guayaquil in relation to social and participatory equity in the field of higher education, and seeks from teaching and research to contribute with strategies that contribute to the transformation of the belief system and conceptions of the university community, based on the principles of justice and non-discrimination. The strategic proposal correlates with the meaningful learning model whose results would generate the change needed to achieve balance and equal opportunities in our society.
