Comparación entre electrodos POSAI y electrodos comerciales en la titulación potenciométrica de sulfametoxazol y trimetoprima.

The POSAI electrodes (electrode made with ferric and ferrose oxides films over stainless steel) and commercial electrodes were compared in the potenciometric titration of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim included in Bactrim antibiotic. Trimethoprim determination was carried out by the acid�base reaction on non-aqueous medium with perchloric acid, while the sulfamethoxazole determination was made with sodium nitrite in a redox reaction. The use of prototype electrode platinum/POSAI by redox reaction, and the prototype electrode POSAI as reference electrode in an acid-base reaction, was similar to the use of platinum/Ag/AgCl electrode and the use of commercial electrode respectively, due to the equivalency in the results founded in the micropotenciometric titration employing such electrodes.
