Traffic scenarios for the 21st century

Traffic growth estimates in the BT network are presented for the first half of the next century, arising from business and private usage. The estimates are obtained by considering how the working habits of individuals change as advanced communications technology becomes available. It is estimated that traffic will grow by several orders of magnitude compared to current levels, mainly due to different forms of video communications
