2010
A method comprising: contacting a hydrocarbon mixture under hydroconversion conditions in a hydroconversion zone having a mixture of an acidic ionic liquid catalyst and at least one alkyl halide having at least 55 wt .-% halide and a boiling point of 70 ° C or higher. Alkylation process comprising contacting a hydrocarbon mixture under alkylation conditions with a mixture of an acidic ionic liquid catalyst, which is a chloroaluminate, and at least an alkyl halide comprising 1,1,1-trichloroethane, tetrachloroethane or a mixture thereof; wherein more than 99.9% of at least one olefin in the hydrocarbon mixture be alkylated. In addition, a hydroconversion process, comprising a drying of the alkyl halide.
