The Clinical Application of Single Baloon cross Mediline Expansion in Kyphoplasty Under CT Guidence

2012
Objective To evaluate the clinical application of percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP) guided by CT for the treatment of vetebral body osteoporotic compression fracture with single ballon cross midline expansion.Materials and Methods 37 cases of vertebral compression fracture had been diagnosed and PKP operation was adopted for the treatment of the 47 vertebral affected.Under CT guidence,Kyphoplasty was performed using a unilateral, single balloon through unilateral transpedicular.A final ballon position was in the midiline of the vertebral body with the balloon cross midline expansions and bone cement filled. The therapeutic effected as well as dislocation of fracture were observed. Results CT guidence PKP operations were all successfully performed.Vertebral heights and Cobb angle were improved significantly after the surgery. Conclusion CT guided PKP using single ballon is a safe technique with minial invasive as well as less operation time, and effectively relieve clincial symptoms caused by vertebral compression fracture.
