Making child care family-centered: A vision for the 90s

The origins of family-centered childcare are traced, defining it as a concept that has emerged through the integration of chilcare theories and practices with the philosophy and approaches of family resource programming. The rationale for reorienting childcare to be family-centered is also presented, along with a discussion of the qualities of such programs, the possible obstacles to their achievement, and the benefits they can provide.
