Control of interfaces in metal and ceramics composites

This symposium addressed the control of interfaces in metal and ceramic composites. It is agreed among those in the composite field that interfacial reactions in most metal or ceramic composites predominate the mechanical behavior. This symposium was held at the 1994 TMS Annual Meeting, February 27--March 3, 1994, in San Francisco, California. Papers presented were concerned with interfacial reactions, effect of interfaces on mechanical properties of composites, and interface characterization and modeling. Twenty seven papers have been processed separately for inclusion on the data base.
