Lipid Peroxidation in Blood Plasma and Erythrocyte Membranes of Footballers Varying in Performance
2004
The metabolic reorganizations taking place in footballers varying in performance were shown to be accompanied by intensified lipid peroxidation (LPO). The most intense generation of primary and end LPO products was observed during immediate adaptation to a physical load, especially in poorly qualified footballers. It was assumed that the metabolic pathways of lipid utilization switch over to more active use of primary LPO products as energy and structural substrates under conditions of increased energy consumption (immediate adaptation).
