Summary Aim of the study: The author presents the laboratory evaluation of silicone soft lining materials. The contact angle was investigated in a period time. Material and methods: The aim of study is the assessment of the contact angle and hydrophilic or hydrophobic properties of two silicone resin materials (HTV), the most popular in Poland. The contact angle of Molloplast B (Detax GmbH & Co. KG) material was compared with that of Flexor (Weil-Dental) material. Cylindrical samples were placed in to the electronic measurement appliances’. The contact angle was investigated at once after made the samples, after one week, one month and after three months. The angle measured was the external contact angle between the surface of liquid and the surface of the solid. The means of these measurements were used for analysis of the contact angle. Results: The measurements of contact angle of soft lining materials Molloplast B and Flexor show tables. After three month period time the angle contact for Flexors’ specimens was 104,85°, it was higher than for the first measurement – 2,70 degrees higher (2,63%). For Molloplast B the mean contact angle was 106,35° after three month and it was 0,04 degrees higher (0,37%).
