An E-conversion Project in Turkey’s Education System: the FATİH Project
2018
Turkey, especially in recent years, has started to apply e-conversion strategies in many different areas in order to comply with the European Union e-government plan and convert itself into an economy based on information. One of these projects is FATIH, promising to bring great innovation to the Turkish education system. The project started in 2010 and is intended to be completed in five years. Within the first three years, required infrastructure services were implemented and then pilot schemes were started at schools in different regions within the last two years. Within the scope of the project, equipment such as computers and interactive boards have been provided for every classroom and each student has been given a tablet computer.
