Structure and mechanical properties of air-interwoven acetate filament yarn

1975
The technique of interweaving the fibres during the spinning process with a jet of compressed air has been adopted in the practice of the man-made fibre industry both in the Soviet Union and elsewhere /I/. Air-interweaving on a special device fitted to the spinning machine not only increases the density and abrasion resistance of filament yarn but also makes it possible to dispense with the twisting operation /2,3/. The Kaunas Fibre Plant has produced 278 tons of air-interwoven triacetate yarn which was processed to woven and knitted fabrics in the original and textured states.
