soybean seed diseases in Argentina. In recent years, quality problems in soybean seed have been detected in Argentina. The pathologic deterioration of seeds is a significant problem because it directly relates to germination failure in the field, and introduces diseases into uncontaminated fields. We describe the symptoms and harm caused by the following microorganisms: Alternaria spp., Colletotrichum spp., Cercospora kikuchii, Fusarium spp., Peronospora manshurica, Phomopsis spp., Penicillium spp., Aspergillus spp. and Sclerotinia. The characteristics of these diseases and their proper management are also mentioned in this article.
