2000
Aim: To probe the pattern of quantitative alteration of natural Anopheles sinensis population in Zhengzhou.Meth- ods: Investigating at fixed place and quantitatively by using experimental barrels, experimental nets and experimental cages in nature. Results:The growth period of pre-adult stage was 14. 17 d for July and 13.32 d for August, the survival rate was 77.53% for July and 85. 18% for August, the gonotrophic cycle was 2.48 d for July and 2.49 d for August, the pattern of oviposition was that the most female mosquitoes oviposited at night and the peak of oviposition appeared at dawn and dusk, the mean number of oviposition was 167 for July and 121 for August, the mean life span of adult mosquito was 3.93 d for July and 6.23 d for August. Conclusion: The density peak of Anopheles sinensis population in Zhengzhou appear at the last ten days of July and August, respectively. The number of natural population was great, and the potential capacity of malaria trasmission is high.
