The new three-phase AC voltage regulators with a small number of switches

A new family of AC voltage regulators with commutated capacitors is proposed at the paper. Reduction of number of semiconductor switches and reactive elements was the main point in the development of new converters. Discussed converters could increase or decrease of voltage keeping sinusoidal input and output currents. Lower values of the given capacitors reactive power and a large control range are characterized of these regulators. Paper presents an analytical calculation of the basic energy characteristics with using of the author direct method of calculation. We analyzed the imitating modeling results in the PSIM software.
