Information for Pediatricians: A Need to be Satisfied?

A pharmaceutical company has the moral obligation to produce scientific knowledge and distribute it to the scientific community, especially to doctors, family physicians and clinicians, in a way that best suites their needs. The Company had already started some targeted training initiatives for some categories of physicians, such as cardiologists, dermatologists and gastroenterologists. As to pediatricians, the problem was difficult, as the pediatrician is not interested in just one specialty, but for patients within a given range of age, he has to be informed at the same time about gastroenterology, cardiology, infections, endocrinology, dermatology, etc.. Therefore, it was necessary to provide for a reactive service rather than a proactive one, in order to answer the questions physicians have to face from time to time. Moreover, in Italy there are more than 10000 pediatricians and in order to reach all of them it was necessary to study proper solutions.
