Cultivation of English Majors’Innovative Competence Based upon English Disciplinary Learning and Practice

This paper advances a new teaching approach based upon the theoretical thinking of innovative competence,the survey of the present teaching for English majors and the theories of both Constructivisim and Humanism.It is characterized by cultivating the innovative competence of non-key university English majors through English disciplinary learning and practice.After two years' teaching practice,it has formed a system by and large which consists of "one objective","two competences","three reforms","four projects","five models","six combinations" and "seven measures." As a result,the approach does help the students cultivate and develop fairly good integrated innovative competence in English discipline.
