H∞ Control of Discrete-time Input-delay Systems with Observer-based Prediction

Abstract The Smith predictor and observer-based predictor are received as two typical types of controllers for input-delay systems. For the discrete-time single input-delay systems, the H∞ controller parameterization was obtained in the Smith predictor form. However, the previous solution inherits structural restrictions on the regularity of the system matrix, and it involves difficulties for broader practical applications. This paper provides an alternative H∞ controller implementation in the observer-based predictor form and remove the regularity restrictions.
