Static and dynamic high-voltage pulse transformers

2000
The Marx generator is commonly used when it is required to produce high-voltage pulses on a high impedance load. There are however applications in which this will be either too costly or not useful for remote applications and the present paper describes two novel techniques to overcoming these difficulties. Theoretical and experimental results show that high-voltage pulses with rise times of a few tens of nanoseconds can be generated using these techniques.
