Ammoniated products of aspen wood oxidation

A high-molecular-weight product containing 10.9% organically bound N and 8.92% COOH groups is isolated after oxidation of aspen chips with an ammonia solution of ammonium persulphate. The product, which has ∼25% readily assimulated N in the ammonium and amide forms, was proposed as a N-containing organo-mineral fertilizer.
