Determination of nickel (II) using catalytic hydrogen currents at DME

A catalytic polarographic method for the determination of trace level quantities of Ni(II) is developed based on the catalytic current ofnickel in the presence of sodiumisopropylxanthate (Napxan) in ammoniumchloride-ammonium hydroxide medium at pH ∼ 10.0. the developed procedure is applied for the estimation ofNi(II) in drinking water, Agriculture materials and synthetic mixtures. The method is simple, sensitive and free from the interference of many ions.
