Thiapyrylium trifluoroacetates and thiacyclohexanes from 1, 5-diketones

1,5-Diketones react with hydrogen sulfide and trifluoroacetic acid to give a mixture of thiapyrylium trifluoroacetates or sym-octahydrothiaxanthylium trifluoroacetates with thiacyclohexanes or perhydrothiaxanthenes, respectively.
