Growth, structural, and solid-state properties of a hybrid metal–organic crystal: tetramethylammonium cadmium nitrate

2021
A new metal–organic single crystals of tetramethylammonium cadmium nitrate (TMACN) have been grown by solution growth method. The grown TMACN crystals have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) and powder X-ray diffraction analyses. Furthermore, TMACN crystals have been subjected to scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infra-red, Fourier transform Raman, UV–Visible, and Vickers microhardness studies. The surface morphology has been investigated by SEM analysis. From UV–Visible analysis, the grown crystals have been optically transparent from 200 to 900 nm. The mechanical stability has been investigated by Vickers microhardness study. Time-dependent dielectric studies have been measured by LCR meter. The dielectric constant varies with increasing frequency observed using dielectric study. Photoluminescence spectral study  give the information about the crystal which emits green emission.
