On the design of mixed-mode simulators for modern VLSI circuits
1995
This paper presents the basic principles in designing a mixed-mode simulator for analog/digital VLSI circuits. Much of the current interest in this subject stems from the increasing complexity and size of integrated circuits and also from the upward trend in integrating both digital and analog parts on a single chip. Current techniques are reviewed. Then, a coherent design is formulated and the various stages in its technical development are delineated.
