EFICIENCIA EN COBERTURA Y CALIDAD DE LAS INSTITUCIONES EDUCATIVAS OFICIALES DEL MUNICIPIO DE DOSQUEBRADAS (RISARALDA) Efficiency in Coverage and Quality in the Official Educational Institutions of the city of Dosquebradas (Risaralda)

The current research, evaluates and analyzes the re lative efficiency of the educational Institutions in Dosquebradas (Risaralda ) in the year 2008 which follow the Law 115 from 1994. This efficiency was evaluated for each one of the e ducational institutions using the method of data envelopment analysis DEA (Model BCC-O[1]), Then the potential improvement was calculated to inform to e ach no efficient institution the right percentage that the product should incre ase in order to reach the maximum efficiency. The classification of variables in a set of inputs and outputs was done by expert’s criterion (researchers). After that, using the prin cipal component analysis technique, the set of the original outputs variable s was divided in two factors (quality and coverage), both factors directly relat ed with the two of the four aspects referred in the General Education Law.
