Tetranuclear nickel(II) clusters: Syntheses, crystal structures, magnetic properties and Hirshfeld surface analysis
2016
AbstractTwo nickel-based tetranuclear clusters, [Ni4(aatp)2(CH3COO)4(μ3-OCH3)2(DMF)2] (1) and [Ni4(aatp)2(HCOO)4(μ3-OCH3)2(CH3OH)2] (2) (1 is bis(μ3-methoxo)-bis(2-acetyl-6-aminophenolate-κ3N,O,O)-bis(μ2-acetato-κO)-bis(μ2-acetato-κ2O,O)-bis(μ1-N,N-dimethylformamide)-tetra-nickel, 2 is bis(μ3-methoxo)-bis(2-acetyl-6-aminophenolate-κ3N,O,O)-bis(μ2-formate-κO)-bis(μ2-formate-κ2O,O)-bis(μ1-N,N-dimethylformamide)-tetra-nickel, Haatp is 1-(3-amino-2-hydroxy-phenyl)-ethanone), were synthesized. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and X-ray single crystal diffraction. A detailed analysis of Hirshfeld surfaces and fingerprint plots facilitates a comparison of intermolecular interactions, which are crucial in building different supramolecular architectures. The magnetic properties of 1 and 2 from 2 to 300 K are also discussed.
