LONGITUDINAL AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE CONTROL UTILIZING ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND BRAKES

This paper describes the realization of three types of adaptive cruise control (ACC) systems. The first system utilizes only throttle access. The second system utilizes access to the automatic transmission ECU, while the third system includes access to the braking system. The paper discusses testing of the systems and the advantages/disadvantages associated with each system.
