Uso da corrente aussie sobre a gordura e resistência muscular abdominal

2021
Introduction: since the increase in abdominal fat affects a large population contingent, several techniques are used in an attempt to reduce this problem, among them a new therapeutic modality that is the application of the Aussie current (AC). Objective: to measure the effect of the AC on the reduction of abdominal fat and its effect on the resistance of abdominal muscles. Methodology: the research is composed of a sample of 20 women, divided equally in the control (CG) and intervention (IG) groups. IG was submitted to the AC application, in a total of 10 sessions of 20 minutes each, for 30 days. For the evaluations, body mass index analysis, abdominal circumference, abdominal resistance test, and bioimpedance examination were used. Results: there were no significant differences regarding the interaction of factors (p>0.05), but there were differences between the evaluations for abdominal resistance (p<0.05), as well as differences between groups and evaluations for the % of lean mass, and also the effect sizes for the electro-stimulated group were higher than those obtained by CG. Conclusion: AC in isolated use is not an efficient alternative for reducing measures and increasing muscle resistance significantly, however, there may be clinical effects of it.
