To assess if pharmacist prescription saves visits to physician; to assess if it improves patient�s own health perception; and to evaluate the applicability of the consultation procedure. Methods: Semi-experimental study on patients who go to a community pharmacy requesting for something for their problem, and for pharmacist advise a drug, after a systematic application of a guideline. Results: 120 patients completed 6 month study period, from 166 originally included. Guideline was correctly applied in 92% of cases, constituting 1.14% of pharmacy operations. 85% of patients did not need going to physician. 75% stated they quite improved their symptoms. 87% felt better or cured. 100% of patients will come back to pharmacy. Conclusions: Pharmacist identifies situations who can treat minor ailments and pharmacist advising medicines improves patients� own health perception. More studies that allow quantify pharmacist behavior when is the first professional used by patient are needed.
