Denizli has played an active role in the National Struggle period and is one of the cities that frequently comes up. It was the first regular and planned response to the occupation of Izmir by the Greeks on May 15, 1919 with the rally of the wire held in the city center, and then the same reaction was given in the districts. Muftu Ahmet Hulusi Efendi in Denizli center, Muftu Ahmet Izzet Efendi in Cal, Muftu Ahmet Şukru Efendi in Saraykoy, Muftu Hasan Efendi in Acipayam, Muftu Cennetzade Tahir Efendi in Tavas, Muftu Mehmet Efendi in Buldan, Corbacioglu Hasan in Civril and Mehmet Ali Aga, the struggle for the liberation of the homeland was started and the National Committees were established.Ahmet Izzet Efendi was born in Cal-Suller in 1875 and received a good education in Suller and Istanbul. In 1910, he was appointed as the Muftu of Cal. He gave great support to the establishment of Cal Heyet-i Milliyesi and served as its president. Muftu Ahmet Izzet Efendi collided with the enemy on the front of Aydin-Kosk with the volunteers he gathered from Cal and its surroundings.He has made great contributions to the acquisition of the War of Independence and the establishment of the Republic of Turkey. After the victory, he did not want to serve as a deputy and continued his education. He was honored with two Independence Medals for his struggle. In 1952, he marched to Hakk.
