Assaying environmental condition on essential oil quality of three medicinal plants in Isfahan province.

This study carried out in 4 regions Esfahan, Daran, Semirom and Gholpayegan to determine the effect of environmental condition on flowering aerial part yield and essential oil quantity and quality of Thymus daenensis, Dracocephalum kotschyi and Matricaria chamomilla during 2002-2004. T. daenensis and D. kotschyi were planted with transplanted seedlings and M. chamomilla was planted with seed directly. Flowering aerial part yield, essential oil content and height of 3 species and also cover for only 2 species T. daenensis and D. kotschyi were measured. According to the results of this study during 2002-2004 the highest above ground yield of T. daenensis achieved in Esfahan and Daran stations. The highest capitol yield of M. chamomilla was in Esfahan and the highest above ground yield of D. Kotschyi achieved in Esfahan and Daran. In relation to the essential oil, the highest amount of T. daenensis oil was in Esfahan and Daran, the highest M. chamomilla oil was in Esfahan and the highest D. kotschyi oil was achieved in Esfahan, Daran and Semirom. According to the combined analysis of data the highest above ground yield of T. daenensis achieved in Daran during 2 continued years 3.79 and 3.68 ton/ha respectively and in Esfahan 3.68 ton/ha, and the highest oil was in Golpayegan 3.75%. The highest above ground yield and Essential oil content of D. kotschyi achieved in Daran3.20 ton/ha and 3.166% respectively. The highest Matricaria capitol yield achieved during 2 nd and 3 rd years in Esfahan 1.5266 and 1.491 ton/ha and in Semirom 1.473 and 1.452 respectively. The highest Matricaria oil in 3 rd year in Daran 1.07% and in Semirom 1.064 which didn't have any significant difference. According to location and year interaction T. daenensis in Daran had the highest aerial part yield. D. kotschyi had the highest aerial part yield and oil in Daran. For capitol yield and oil content of Matricaria Daran, Esfahan and Semirom were recommended respectively. According to the essential oil component the main compound were found in all regions and their production depends on market demand and economical factors.
