Electromagnetic-micromagnetic simulator for magnetization-eddy current dynamics in magnetic materials and devices

A coupled Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (LLG) — Maxwell equations solver is presented. The solver uses the quasistatic approximation to the Maxwell equations and can be used to study the effect of eddy currents dynamics on the electromagnetic fields solution and on the magnetization dynamics in magnetic systems. The proposed approach uses two parallel solvers, one for the LLG equation, one for the Maxwell equations, and integrates in time using an error controlled Newton method. Numerical results are validated by comparing with a known analytical solution.
