Improving the performance of Kriging based interpolation application with parallel processors
2012
Kriging algorithm has been used for determining the geological characteristics of the areas between the measured data points in geostatistical applications. In this study we are using the Kriging Algorithm to recover the missing pixels of digital images. Previously, some studies have proved that the preferred algorithm have shown high performance on interpolating the missing pixels. However applicability of the algorithm has been questioned because of processing load. Our main goal is to increase the operational performance and decrease the operation time of Kriging Algorithm, by employing parallel processing architectures. In this work, the performance of the parallelized algorithm is evaluated theoretically.
