A Full-Wave Analysis of Uniform Microstrip Leaky-Wave Antenna with Arbitrary Metallic Strips

2008
Abstract In this article, a full-wave analysis based on least squares and boundary elements techniques that can be used to predict the radiation of a microstrip leaky-wave antenna of arbitrary metallic strips is presented. The effects of the metal profiles on radiating characteristics are investigated. The current density trial functions used here are constructed numerically by an eigenvalue problem. The method's capability and efficiency are demonstrated for the two strips per period case, which can eliminate stop-band phenomenon occurring at broadside by a single strip and a comb line.
