Agent for control of sensitivity to ultraviolet light

2009
An aqueous extract is obtained from ashwagandha leaves, which can be collected inexpensively in large quantities, for use as an agent for controlling sensitivity to ultraviolet light. The aqueous extract of ashwagandha leaves acts to protect cells from ultraviolet damage, and at relatively highly concentrations acts to kill cells, and particularly cancer cells, under exposure to ultraviolet illumination.
