Pre- and Postoperative Imaging in Transposition of Great Arteries

2021
Transposition of great arteries (TGA) is a congenital heart abnormality in which the aorta arises from the right ventricle and the main pulmonary artery arises from the left ventricle. In complete TGA (CTGA), the morphological right atrium is connected to the morphological right ventricle which in turn is connected to the aorta. Similarly, the morphological left atrium is connected to the morphological left ventricle which in turn is connected to the pulmonary artery. Whereas in congenitally corrected TGA (CCTGA) the ventricles have switched atrial relationships.
