Clinical study on Doula delivery

2011
Objective To discuss the effect of Doula delivery. Methods The study includes 500 maternity patients doing prenatal diagnosis regularly who have no indications of caesarean delivery.Random drawing 250 maternity patients as the group of Doula delivery and the other 250 patients as the group of traditional patterns,to compare the duration of labor, the amount of postpartum hemorrhage and the rate of neonatal asphyxia. Results The first course of labor(8.78 h±1.03 h) and the second course of labor(1.13 h±0.43 h) in Doula delivery group both were shorter than those in the control group(11.83 h±1.24 h),(1.13 h±0.43 h)(P0.05).The amount of puerperal hemorrhage(110.67 ml±10.83 ml) was less than that in the control group(130.24 ml±10.46 ml)(P0.05).The rate of neonatal asphyxia(1.6%) was lower than that in the control group(6.4%)(P0.05). Conclusions Doula delivery can shorten the duration of labor, reduce postpartum hemorrhage and debase the rate of neonatal asphyxia, which is advantageous of the pregnant and baby.In a word,Doula in parturition is worthy of being advocated.
