2021
This study seeks to characterize the perspective of doctoral students around a virtual workshop, which is aimed at reviewing thesis chapters produced by the same students, based on exchange and feedback with peers and experts (teachers and thesis supervisors). Based on a qualitative analysis focused on the participants’ perspective different categories have been identified on specific dimensions of the seminar. In this article, the following are considered: the seminar activities based on three models (communicative situation model, event model and textual model), training through practice, peer review, expert review and knowledge transfer. These categories provide evidence that participation in the seminar would contribute to the incorporation of PhD students into the academic and scientific community. e workshop serves as a microcommunity of academic practice.
