RSB: Research Specimen Banking across the Institution

Abstract Research Specimen Banking (RSB) system is a component of the translational investigations infrastructure at Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute. It was implemented to provide specimen management functions to support basic science cancer research taking place in conjunction with caner clinical trials. RSB handles the receipt and distribution of clinical specimens to the research labs, with identifiers that both mask personal identity and enable linkage of clinical data to correlative research lab data collected by the study system. RSB was integrated with existing clinical, research lab, and administrative workflow. This poster summarizes the system's features.
