Closure of fuel elements

Abstract A method is described for the end closure of claddings of fuel elements obtained by hot swaging. Cladding materials are dispersion hardened metals, and particularly SAP (synthered aluminum with Al 2 O 3 dispersion) and NiTD ∗∗ (nickel synthered with ThO 2 dispersion). Results obtained are reported in the present paper.
