Analysis of Prison Disciplinary Problems

The author is Chairman of Criminology and Corrections at the Florida State University in Tallahassee. He was formerly Psychologist and Assistant Deputy Warden in charge of individual treatment at the State Prison of Southern Michigan. Dr. Fox is the author of Violence Behind Bars, which is based upon his experiences in the riot there in 1952. It includes an analysis of prison riots in general. The following article is a revision of a paper which the author read before the Section for Criminology in the December, 1957, meeting of A.A.A.S. in Indianapolis.-EDITOR.
