Fuel cell, comprising: a single cell internal gas passage (62, 71, 72, 81) in the reaction gas through a single cell (21, 22) of the fuel cell (10) flows; a switching device (B1, B2, B3, B4, B1, B2, B3, B4, B31, B32, B33, B34) for switching a flow direction of the reaction gas to the single cell internal gas passage (62, 71, 72, 81) is supplied from to change a first direction to a second direction to the direction of flow of the reaction gas in a single cell internal gas passage (71, 72, 81, 62); and a control device (50) for switching the flow direction of the reaction gas is supplied to the single cell internal gas passage (81 62, 71, 72,), (by means of the switching device B1, B2, B3, B4, B1, B2, B3, B4, B31, B32 , B33, B34) of the first direction to the second direction in accordance with an operating state of the fuel cell (10), characterized, in that the second direction intersecting the first direction.
