An Electronic Meter for Hole Depth Measurement Using Sonic Echo Ranging Techniques

Abstract An electronic instrument based on sonic echo ranging principle in air medium for measuring the depth of drillholes is described. Techniques involved, particularly those by which the reverberation caused byobstructions and fissures in the hole is inhibited and the bottom echo re-liably identifiedt are discussed more in detail.
