Paraoxonase: Molecular genetic aspects and clinical value

Current data on the molecular and biochemical properties of antioxidant enzyme paraoxonase are given. The possibilities of using the enzyme activity as a diagnostic test in clinical chemistry, as well as genetically determined molecular forms of the enzyme as markers associated with a predisposition to certain pathologies, are discussed.
