Ionospheric cavitons and related nonlinear phenomena

Experimental evidence and theoretical results are presented for a physical model of ionospheric cavitons. The relationship of cavitons to other nonlinear phenomena and their role in ionospheric modification experiments are discussed. The recently completed HIPAS HF Transmitting Facility is described.
