A method for manufacturing a housing block for a hydraulic unit

In order to manufacture a housing block for a hydraulic aggregate with bores for locating valve insets and a cylinder bore that forms the running surface for the piston of a piston pump, the blank (1) for the housing block is made of a tough, highly resistant and easy-to-shape aluminium cast or wrought alloy and shaped by a modified pressure casting process, in particular squeeze-casting or thixo-casting, and the wall of the cylinder bore is formed by a cast insert (6) made of a friction-poor and wear-resistant material. An aluminium alloy, in particular a material with the trade name Alcoa Deltalloy 4032, AlSi 17 or Kayser DHT 3, is used for the insert (6).
