Occipital stroke and visual misperceptions

1997
Visual misperceptions represent a pathological form of perception. They are classifed as unformed (photopsias) or formed (complex). Different disorders are accompanied by these plenomena, in cases with symptomatic hallucinosis it is possible to define their anatomical origin in the occipital regions near the visual pathway. Reviews of our records with focal lesions involving visual cortex revealed four patients with symptomatic visual hallucinations.
