Evaluation and utilization of new varieties of sugarcane for energy and sugar.

Yield,quality and other characteristics were compared for 12 sugarcane clones at variety yield test stage.The results indicated that FN99-20169,FN02-3924 and FN02-6404 showed early maturity with higher sucrose content,higher yield,and better synthetic characters.FN02-6427,showing its advantages in early maturity,high yield,high sucrose content and great stalk diameter,but with early flowering,had some potential prospect as early harvest clone.The agronomic characteristics and yield of FN01-0241 showed less potential comparatively,but it can be trailed as high sucrose content parent.Early brix research indicated that FN02-3924 maturated particularly early,it could be harvested earlier for more than two months.
