The invention discloses a nuclear radiation shielding device and method. The nuclear radiation shielding device comprises a shielding container and a plurality of shielding particles; the shielding container wraps radioactive source equipment, and a shielding space is formed between the shielding container and the radioactive source equipment; the position between the shielding container and the radioactive source equipment is filled with the multiple shielding particles, the shielding space is filled with the shielding particles, and the shielding particles are made of a nuclear radiation shielding material. According to the nuclear radiation shielding device, the corresponding shape of the shielding container can be flexibly selected according to the shape of the wrapped radioactive source equipment, the size of the shielding device is shrunk, and waste of materials is avoided. The multiple shielding particles are arranged in the shielding space between the shielding container and the radioactive source equipment in a filled mode, a dense shielding layer is formed in the shielding space, and thus a good shielding effect can be guaranteed on the basis of shrinking the size of the shielding device.
