Microangiopathies and malignant vascular injury in the kidney

2004
Abstract Microangiopathies without vasculitis are a challenge to interpretation and diagnosis of renal biopsy. This review focuses on the thrombotic microangiopathies in native and allograft kidneys, with discussion of nomenclature, cause, pathogenesis, pathological features and lesions of differential diagnosis, including disseminated intravascular coagulation, pre-eclampsia, lupus vasculopathy and chronic allograft glomerulopathy.
